FELO DE SE 06:06
Lend me the heart of a ghost, to meet your acceptance once more A patient ones go to heaven, the soulless ones become a whore I wrote three lines to seek comforts, ended with a crack in the paragraph I am not myself tonight or ever. The burdens remain, this distance lost in the grain To the concept of rusty chains I have attained Take the cash from my hand, the archetype of greed. Grant me the wisdom to read an/the art, from the abstract lines to the bleakest part To embrace the pale memories in the pleasure to obey you I am not myself tonight or ever. I’ve become myself since forever. Devoured by fear. Engineered by god. Despised from history. Expanded in silence. For nothing has changed I am once myself Being deaf in the concrete labyrinth Tortured in demented dreams Forget me for being myself Trapped in perception tying the knot I’ve become myself since forever I’ve returned to myself forever

The lesser I have known, the better I have grown In the void of penitence, and the senses I disowned Polluted design of tradition Reaping the roots of hate Aching through my cells Singing promises in cold rhythm Hanging bodies and expectations. Nothing left to withstand Rest assured in perished land Stake my heart, burn my pride. Leave the noises for tomorrow’s dawn For the chaos in silence In a pursuit to find balance The voices in the distance are silenced The hallowed ground is where I rest, free from nightmares

about

Liner notes from Uri A. Putra (Masakre, Kelelawar Malam, Ghaust, Bertanduk)

February 2019 when Avhath released the mini-album The Avhath Rites. Justifiably celebrated, here did the Jakarta Quintet poignantly prove that black metal could indeed come from the hardcore band. In fact, despite invoking a whole host of timeless influences - Hvis lyset tar oss, God Is War, De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas & Solve Et Coagula - Avhath processed them in such an undeniably elegant way that was not only wholly their own, but it was also wholly refreshing.

FELO DE SE and HALLOWED GROUND are Avhath's two new songs.
Stark contrasts but subtly drawn together: more delicate vs. more driving, more melody vs. more motorik, sharp stabs vs. smooth caresses.
Taken in a mature direction, the startling poise is more pronounced, more abrasive, the "metal" in their black/crust simultaneously emphasized and abstracted, the gnarliness more graceful, the confidence simply off the charts here.
Avhath, now more ever, is existing in their own bleak and brilliantly rarefied world.
